Everyone's been reading about the fallout of subprime loans and with it the demise of certain mortgage companies.  When buying a home, one has to be extra careful as to who they select as their Lender. American Home Mortgage just filed for bankruptcy on August 3rd leaving loans that were in their pipeline in limbo. Some other major players are rumored to be in trouble as well.
